Third Annual “Mad Hatter’s” Cocktail Tea Party Benefits Storybook Homes Long-Term Follow-Up Clinic June 9, 2018
The public is invited to support childhood cancer survivors — and their unique medical, emotional and social needs — at the Mad Hatter’s cocktail tea party on Saturday, June 9, 2018, in the lobby of the Roseman University of Health Sciences’ Breakthrough Building at One Breakthrough Way, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89135.
This year, attendees will be invited to mix and mingle in a cocktail party atmosphere while enjoying tea, cakes, sandwiches and other treats, as well as adult beverages including mimosas, wine and a special themed cocktail we call the “Jabberwocky.” As the name suggests, the “Mad Hatter’s” theme is based on the Lewis Carroll classic story Alice in Wonderland. The event will be held from Noon to 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will support the StoryBook Homes Long-Term Follow-Up Clinic for childhood cancer survivors. The clinic provides health monitoring, testing, annual exams, referrals and education for patients who have survived cancer. In addition, each patient receives a booklet which identifies the specific treatment each patient completed, as well as the long-term risks which are possible from those treatments. This is information designed to keep patients healthy as they grow into adulthood and is meant to be shared with future medical providers years from now.
“We’re thrilled to expand our annual tea party to a new location this year, utilizing the inspiring lobby of the Breakthrough Building at Roseman University of Health Sciences,” said Annette Logan-Parker, President & CEO, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. “Most importantly, our tea party funds and supports the essential services we provide to childhood cancer survivors that help them live healthier lives.”
As a program of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, the StoryBook Homes Long-Term Follow-Up Clinic will turn no patient away from treatment for financial reasons. Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s Charity Care Program allows patients without medical insurance and without financial ability to get the treatment they need. Since 2007, the Charity Care Program has helped more than 500 families get access to the life-saving treatment they need, but couldn’t afford.
The third annual “Mad Hatter’s” cocktail tea party is made possible through the generous support of Roseman University of Health Sciences, Feel Good Brands and Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels.
Tickets are $125 per person until June 2, 2018. On June 3, tickets will be $150. (Childhood cancer survivors and their families are $125 per person regardless of date.) Tickets can be purchased at https://teaparty.auction-bid.
