Tropical Smoothie Cafe a Hit on Las Vegas Boulevard
In the three months since opening its first Las Vegas Strip location, Tropical Smoothie Cafe (TSC) has done well to attract and introduce tourists unfamiliar to the brand to healthy fast food and fresh fruit smoothies, as well as locals who have been enjoying TSC in neighborhoods throughout Las Vegas for the past 12 years.
Located at 3717 Las Vegas Blvd. South (cornered with Harmon Ave), adjacent to Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, TSC’s first Strip-based location offers easy access, free parking behind the shopping complex.

“We shouldn’t be surprised to find that nearly 25 percent of our business comes from locals walking over from their jobs at neighboring casinos and locals taking advantage of the free parking behind the building,” said Dina Mitchell, Tropical Smoothie Café Area Developer and Marketing Director for Nevada. “To repay the locals who visit our Las Vegas Blvd. / Harmon store for their loyalty, we offer them a 25 percent discount.”
Mitchell brought Tropical Smoothie Café to Southern Nevada in 2001, opening the first store in Henderson in 2001, which was also the company’s 24th location in the nation. Six of the current 19 Vegas area stores are among the top 10 in sales nationwide. The top-selling store within the entire company is located at Flamingo and I-215.
Under Mitchell’s leadership, area stores have been active in philanthropy with local and national nonprofit organizations for the past 12 years. The Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada, Camp Sunshine, Salvation Army, Public Education Foundation and Las Vegas Philharmonic, are among the organizations that have benefitted from Tropical Smoothie Café’s community outreach efforts.
