United Way of Southern Nevada’s Volunteer Center Seeks 400 Volunteers to Help Feed the Homeless, Nov. 10

United Way of Southern Nevada’s Volunteer Center is partnering with the Nevada Homeless Alliance to help provide lifestyle assistance to thousands of homeless at Cashman Center on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

Approximately 400 individuals are needed for the service-oriented event. Volunteers can register for three shifts and will be assigned duties including escorting participants to different service providers, check-in, event setup and tear down, giveaways and more.

At the event, the homeless can get free access to services for critical everyday needs such as haircuts, pet care, housing and job advising, dental care, HIV testing, substance abuse treatment, legal advice and more. Between 3,000 and 5,000 local people are expected to attend this year’s event.

WHEN: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10

Volunteer shifts:

  • 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Noon – 5 p.m.
  • 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (all day)
