Vegas PBS: Described & Captioned Media Center Holds Ribbon Cutting
The Vegas PBS Described and Captioned Media Center held a ribbon cutting on Nov. 30 to celebrate the opening of its new free-loan educational media library. The library is available to all Nevada citizens.
Vegas PBS Play Area for impaired students containing educational games
Services include audio and Braille books, Braille printing, classroom kits for understanding blindness and visual impairment, closed captioned DVD and VHS for the deaf and hard of hearing, descriptive audio DVD and VHS for blind and visually impaired students, educational games and family literacy kits for the deaf and blind.

Vegas PBS Director, Educational Media Services; Bruce Spotleson, Vegas PBS Director, Corporate Partnership; Dawn LaBonte, Wells Fargo SVP, Community Affairs, Lianne Nishida-Costello / Rep. Ruben Kihuen and Georgia Allen / Metro Chamber of Commerce.
The grant from Wells Fargo makes it possible for Vegas PBS to expand the DCMC with the new children’s area and funds additional table space where paraprofessionals, educators and caregivers accessing the DCMC can use materials strategically to reach learning goals, conduct small meetings and consult with children and adults addressing special needs.
