Las Vegas has earned another national accolade just in time for Independence Day. A new study ranks the Entertainment Capital of the World as the best city to celebrate the Fourth of July, placing it ahead of New York City, Orlando, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. The ranking comes as millions of Americans prepare to mark the nation’s holiday with fireworks, family gatherings, and community events.
Las Vegas Is the Best City to Celebrate the Fourth of July

WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 18 metrics to determine where Americans can enjoy the holiday while balancing entertainment, affordability, and convenience. The analysis considered factors including fireworks displays, weather forecasts, restaurant affordability, party supply stores, and beverage prices.
According to the report, Las Vegas claimed the top overall spot after ranking first for entertainment and recreational facilities. The city also stood out for its large number of party supply stores per capita and strong availability of affordable restaurants rated 4.5 stars or higher.
WalletHub also cited the city’s favorable rankings for fireworks legality, average hamburger prices, and relatively low beer and wine costs compared with many major metropolitan areas.
“The 4th of July is one of the most beloved holidays in America, allowing many of us to not only celebrate our independence but also get a day off of work and gather together with family and friends,” WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in the report.
The recognition arrives as the National Retail Federation estimates U.S. households will collectively spend about $9.4 billion on food for Independence Day celebrations.
Study Highlights Why Las Vegas Leads the Rankings

The annual report measures more than fireworks alone. Researchers evaluated costs, entertainment options, accessibility, and overall holiday experience. Las Vegas performed particularly well because visitors and residents have access to a wide variety of attractions within a compact area. The city combines large-scale public celebrations with neighborhood events, making it attractive for different types of holiday travelers.
New York City ranked second overall, followed by Orlando, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. WalletHub’s rankings reflect a broader trend of Las Vegas continuing to expand beyond gaming, with sporting events, concerts, dining, family attractions, and seasonal festivals contributing to year-round tourism.
Fourth of July Events Across Las Vegas

Holiday celebrations are scheduled throughout the Las Vegas Valley during Fourth of July weekend. Topgolf Las Vegas plans several Independence Day-themed promotions from July 3 through July 5, alongside patriotic food offerings and family-friendly entertainment.
Downtown, El Cortez Hotel & Casino is hosting holiday dining specials and promotional events throughout the weekend. Nearby, visitors can also enjoy the annual fireworks display launched from the Plaza area, which is visible throughout much of Fremont Street.
At Circa Resort, Stadium Swim is scheduled to host its annual Fourth of July festivities, including live DJs, rooftop entertainment, and a hot dog-eating contest during the holiday celebration. Fireworks are expected to begin around 9 p.m., providing another viewing option for visitors spending the weekend downtown.
Elsewhere across the valley, several resorts, parks, and community venues are expected to feature fireworks displays and Independence Day programming. This gives residents and tourists multiple opportunities to celebrate America’s birthday.
