WHY Ranch Grand Opening Community Day Hoedown, Sept 27
The White Horse Youth Ranch is celebrating its new facility with a grand opening community hoedown on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m.

In addition to tours of the new facility, the hoedown will feature food, drinks, a special horse meet and greet, games and prizes. The event is open to the public and will be held on the new four-acre ranch, located at 8390 West Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV, 89113.
The WHY Ranch is Las Vegas’ only free horsemanship program aimed at socially challenged youth and their families. It has been in the news recently for adopting six of the neglected horses from Sagebrush Ranch. Amy Meyer, founder and president of WHY Ranch, is excited for the fun and for the attention the hoedown will bring for WHY Ranch and its programs. “We are so thrilled to be in our own facility and so delighted that we’ve already been able to adopt six needy horses. We are getting them healthy so they can be wonderful assets as we expand our programs. All of us at the ranch hope the community comes out for the hoedown to get to know us and to understand what we’re about in southern Nevada.”
As it expands its programs, WHY Ranch is focused on its core mission to heal, educate and inspire socially challenged young people through positive interaction with horses and the trainers and teams that surround them. WHY Ranch programs include Diamonds in the Rough, which is tailored specifically to the needs of each participant, and One 2 One, which pairs each child with one horse and one trainer. Programs are both long-and short term and emphasize teamwork, cooperation, respect and healthy boundaries. Participating children and young people build confidence, self-esteem, trust and integrity as they learn about horsemanship and ranch life. All WHY Ranch programs are free to participants and are supported only through community donations.
The White Horse Youth Ranch is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Las Vegas organization offering a free horsemanship program to young people who are dealing with a variety of abuse and social adjustment issues including bullying, divorce, death of a significant caregiver, military separation, illness and difficult home environments. Through the WHY Ranch programs, children and youth are able to heal through developing connected and non-judgmental relationships with horses and with trained staff in a values-based environment.
