This winter, escape the cool temps with our new, live show: Sustainability Gulch. The 25-minute show, presented by the Las Vegas Family Puppet Theater Company, will take place in the Big Springs Theater inside Origen Museum weekends Dec. 5 – Feb. 28 at 11 am and 1 pm. The show is a taste of exciting puppet theater – all about sustainability in the desert.

Sustainability Gulch features a cast of 12 puppets, operated by 6 talented puppeteers. Shows are free for Springs Preserve members or with paid general admission.

Puppet Party Hoedown: Following the show, meet, sing, dance and take pictures with the citizens (puppets and puppeteers) of Sustainability Gulch! Noon and 2 pm. Cost is $5 per person; guests will use their own cameras.

The Springs Preserve is open daily 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) until Nov. 1st when we start observing fall/winter hours 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. General admission for Nevada residents is $9.95 for adults, $8.95 for students, seniors, teachers and military, $4.95 for children ages five to 17, with kids four and under free. General admission also includes access to the Nevada State Museum, open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission for non-resident adults is $18.95, $17.05 for seniors, students and military, $10.95 for children ages five to 17, with kids four and under free.

Located just three miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip, the Springs Preserve is an award-winning 180-acre family destination dedicated to exploring green-living, desert life, and Las Vegas’ vibrant history through botanical gardens, interactive science and nature exhibits, animal shows, and trails offering hiking, biking and train rides.
