WWDMAGIC Celebrates in Style in Las Vegas

The world’s largest fashion trade event, MAGIC, will once again celebrate some of the biggest names in women’s fashion at WWDMAGIC this August. Amid more than 1,000 exhibiting companies from around the world, the WWDMAGIC show will also showcase WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), the foremost authority on style news and trends, as the fashion and retail industry’s daily newspaper celebrates its 100th birthday in 2010.

The WWD@100 Anniversary installation at MAGIC, on the Concourse in Central Hall, arrives as the paper celebrates 100 years as the voice of the industry. Featuring imagery from WWD’s incomparable archives, showcasing a century of iconic fashion and style, attendees will see unforgettable moments in fashion from a century of WWD fashion news and get a glimpse of what today’s hottest brands have planned for next season. Attendees will also take home a limited-edition gift from WWD.

“The women’s wear industry wouldn’t be where it is today without the industry-leadership and influence of WWD,” said Chris DeMoulin, MAGIC International President and Executive Vice President of Advanstar’s Fashion Group. “Across the show floor, we see established brands that have become household names alongside exciting, new up and comers, and WWD has embraced them all with outstanding coverage and insight. We are honored to have them as a partner, and look forward to celebrating their work on the August show floor.”

As Women’s Wear Daily has remained the industry’s most trusted resource for fashion news, WWDMAGIC continues to be the definitive trade show for women’s fashion. In February, the show debuted a new configuration that presented more than 1,100 exhibitors in three easy-to-shop neighborhoods: LOFT, STUDIO and PLAZA. The distinct areas and their unique attributes were an answer to the ever-changing trends in the fashion industry and were embraced by retailers who found they could easily navigate the floor, finding all the brands they expected, while still discovering new product.

WWDMAGIC’s Young Contemporary collection remains the largest display of brands in the United States – with hundreds of brands including Desigual, Free People, B.B. Dakota, Amour Vert, TFNC, Alexis, Costa Blanca and Hurley, who is launching a new young contemporary collection.

Swimwear is back with a vengeance. With more than 300 brands, ISAM at MAGIC, the show’s semi-annual swimwear event is bigger than ever and will include the launch of Nanette Lepore Swim, as well as returning brands like DKNY, Ella Moss and Marc Jacobs, in a dynamic, focused setting. ISAM will welcome an exciting new partnership with Dar Be Dar, the official swimwear sponsor for the Miss Universe Pageant. WWDMAGIC and Dar Be Dar will celebrate Miss Universe’s international influence and reach with a fashion show on the ISAM show floor, featuring a meet and greet session with the reigning Miss Universe, Stefania Fernandez, and several other Miss Universe 2010 pageant contestants. ISAM attendees can also enter a special prize drawing, with a chance to win tickets to the 2010 Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, hotel accommodations, and more.

Elsewhere at WWDMAGIC, Hollywood actress Vanessa Williams (“Ugly Betty”) will launch a new handbag collection, her first, which she will unveil with a personal appearance at the show. Designer Dina Bar-El, a favorite among celebrities including Penelope Cruz, Beyonce Knowles, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Garner and more, will be exhibiting for the first time in the WHITE area. And she will be joined by actress / author Suzanne Somers, who will be showcasing her apparel collection for the first time at MAGIC.
