120,000 Medical-Grade and Surgical Masks Donated to Touro University Nevada Are Now Available to First Responders and Frontline Providers
Touro University Nevada, home to Nevada’s largest medical school and only school of osteopathic medicine, has received an additional 120,000 medical-grade and surgical masks from the Cyrus and Michael Tang Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to supporting education, healthcare, and community service.
This brings the total donation of masks from the Foundation to 200,000 since the Foundation donated 80,000 masks to Touro earlier this month. Michael Tang, with roots in both Las Vegas and Chicago, serves on Touro University Nevada’s Advisory Board and is a generous supporter of the University.
Tang recently purchased masks from China and flew them to the U.S., donating them to Chicago medical facilities and to Touro for distribution to local hospitals, physicians, medical centers, senior care facilities and first responder agencies.
Touro previously provided masks to a variety of local hospitals, medical facilities, first responder agencies, senior care facilities, physician groups and non-profit organizations. With the continued demand for personal protective equipment in the battle against COVID-19, Touro is offering these and other entities additional masks needed for frontline providers and responders.
