City Of Las Vegas Neighborhood Partners Fund Program Offers Matching Grants To Neighborhood Associations
The annual Neighborhood Partners Fund (NPF) grant application process has begun, offering registered city of Las Vegas neighborhood associations the opportunity to apply for a maximum of $5,000 to help improve the quality of their neighborhoods. There is $80,000 available for neighborhood grants this year. The NPF, a real “do-it-yourself” program for neighbor-hoods, allows the city to support citizen creativity, empowerment and responsibility. Applications open March 1, 2021; the deadline for application submission is Monday, April 26, 2021.
“We are excited to once again offer this tried and true program that assists residents in improving their neighborhoods,” Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said. “Las Vegas is proud of its many and diverse neighborhoods and I encourage everyone who wants to build community to apply for a grant.”
Landscaping projects, senior citizen home safety programs, murals, or other proposals related to community improvement are types of neighborhood improvement projects that may qualify under this grant. The program requires neighborhood associations match the city’s grant with cash, volunteer time, or in-kind services and goods donated to the project. Projects are required to take place within city limits and neighborhood boundaries, and include direct resident involvement in all phases of the projects.
Applicants are encouraged to register and attend one of four workshops scheduled to learn about the program and the automated method of applying for the grant. Due to the governor’s guidelines related to COVID-19, workshops will be offered virtually through WebEx as follows:
- Thursday, March 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 16, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, March 20, 9-10 a.m.
- Saturday, April 3, 9-10 a.m.

After the submission deadline, applications will be reviewed for basic requirements and eligibility. The applications will be further evaluated by the NPF Board, whose members are appointed by the City Council. All applicants will be required to make a 10-minute presentation of their projects to the NPF Board. Funding recommendations from the NPF Board on these projects will be presented to the City Council for final approval at the July 2021 City Council meeting.
