Commissioners Hosting ‘Fix Your Finances’ Workshop on June 2
Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Commissioner William McCurdy II are hosting a workshop to provide free financial advice to residents from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, in Commission Chambers at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway in downtown Las Vegas.
“The pandemic put a tremendous strain on many people’s budgets,” Chairman Kirkpatrick said. “It’s important to help people plan for their future by getting their finances back on track.”
“Financial struggles can be overwhelming for any family,” Commissioner McCurdy said. “But through this workshop, residents can learn how to take control of their finances and set them up for success in the future.”
The event is titled Fix Your Finances, A Workshop on Building Wealth. Attendees will be provided with information on budgeting, investing, financial planning, bankruptcy, debt collections and repairing one’s credit, and hear from a financial advisor from JP Morgan Chase & Co. and a representative from Nevada Legal Services.
The event is free to attend and will also be shown live on Clark County Television (CCTV), Facebook and www.youtube.com/user/ClarkCountyNV/live. CCTV is available in the Las Vegas area on Channel 4/1004 on Cox cable and on CenturyLink on Channels 4 and 1004, as well as in Laughlin on Channel 14 via Suddenlink.
