Las Vegas Man is Raffling Off His Tattoo Shop

A local tattoo shop owner took the phrase ‘luck of the draw’ and manifested it into reality.

Caleb Cashew, is giving away his shop, Black Omen Tattoo, to one lucky person via raffle.

“We worked our asses off to build this place,” said Cashew on his website, winatattoshop.com. “[I] lost a lot of sleep to take care of people and build our clientele, so I’d really hate to see all that go to waste.”

Cashew and his wife are moving to the East Coast to be closer to family. Instead of selling the tattoo shop, he’s selling original artwork prints, those who purchase the prints will be entered into a drawing to win the shop.

“It is Vegas after all,” Cashew said in a video announcing the raffle.

Starting at $45, each print purchased will include a golden ticket to become eligible for the drawing.

If Cashew reaches his goal of selling 2,021 prints, he pledges to cut his hair and donate it, in addition to 10% of the proceeds (over $10,000) to the non-profit organization Children With Hairloss.

“No matter what, you’re getting something for your money,” Cashew told 8 News Now. “Vegas loves to gamble. So, it’s a gamble for me too. So, I’m taking that chance.”

The Nevada Gaming Control Board approved the plan. According to the raffle’s website, the winner has to lease the space. Cashew said he will make himself available to help the winner with permits and licensing.

“I know how much work it can be dealing with zoning, licenses, city meetings, and everything else it takes to start a shop,” Cashew said on his website. “So, I want to pass it on – the business and its contents. We’ll basically just be switching the owner’s name.”

The raffle culminates on July 21, 2021, and it will be live-streamed. Anyone in the country is eligible to enter. Original prints are available to purchase at winatattoshop.com

As of the publication of this article, 162 prints have been sold.

Black Omen Tattoo is located at 4080 Paradise Rd. #20, on the corner of Paradise and Flamingo and was established in 2016.
