Local Family-Owned Company MT Exhibits Retools to Create Personal Protection Dividers to Help Businesses Reopen Under New Coronavirus Restrictions
Family-owned MT Exhibits based in Las Vegas has reinvented its trade show exhibit fabrication company to create and install customizable personal protection panels that enable small businesses to easily and affordably divide spaces to allow for improved social distancing while still efficiently serving customers.
With more than 30 years of experience in exhibit fabrication, MT Exhibits saw its sales plummet in only a few weeks due to the cancelation of trade shows and closure of hotel/casinos in Las Vegas. Not knowing when events may again occur, Al, Tania and Alisha Molina – the father, mother and daughter team behind MT Exhibits – pivoted quickly to use the company’s expertise to create a new product for local small businesses and ultimately, a myriad of other public venues.
“We knew we needed to reinvent our business given the current economic environment and that we could help service-based businesses adapt to the new requirements to reopen successfully,” said Al Molina. “We had the capability and infrastructure at MT Exhibits to create lightweight, customizable personal protection dividers that can partition a space so it can be utilized efficiently and safely. We began installing the dividers in local hair salons but ultimately, they can be a solution for any business that needs to adhere to social distancing protocols in a limited space.”
Molina added that they are currently exploring opportunities to install complete dividing systems in stadiums/arenas, hotels, airports, and other public venues to better accommodate social distancing in the snaking customer lines typically divided by stanchions at security checkpoints or check-in counters.
The dividers are custom fabricated, powder coated metal structures with polycarbonate twin wall structural panels that are lightweight, moveable, and easy to clean and sanitize. They start at approximately $200 per unit with pricing based on materials, size, and custom options for a business’s needs. Sizing is available from a single panel to total custom configurations.
“Our main concern has always been the safety and security of our salon team and clients,” said Barbara Garcia Grove, owner of Square Colour Spa + Salon. “Meeting Al and Tania of MT exhibits has been a blessing. We placed their dividers in our shampoo and pedicure areas to make both the Salon staff and the clients feel safer. They brought their professional exhibit business from the Las Vegas Strip to the local beauty business. As a small business, it is important for us to support other small businesses in our community.”
MT Exhibits began fabricating customizable personal protection panels last month and has installed them at Square Colour Spa + Salon as well as several other beauty salons and small businesses across the Las Vegas Valley, including in Town Square, Henderson, Summerlin and Boca Park.
