Local Teens Build Confidence with Training and Organizing the B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation’s Cinderella’s Closet Fashion Show August 29

The Teen Board for the B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation, a resource for girls in vulnerable situations and victims of sex trafficking, will hold its 4th Annual Cinderella’s Closet Fashion Show on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jacinta Boutique in Town Square Las Vegas, 163 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nev.

Local teenagers from across the Valley are invited to participate and supporters can attend the social distance-appropriate in-person event or virtually through a live stream.

Teenagers, 13-17 years-old, can sign up now for a free three-week model training from Mrs. Summerlin 2020 and sex trafficking survivor Chris Mersch, Mrs. America 2020 Natalie Winslow and Palmera Life Owner Tamara Vargas. The training will encourage self-confidence; teach runway techniques, styling and imaging; and generate awareness about girls in vulnerable situations. Those who register will receive a makeover at the fashion show and get to rock the runway.

“As a board made up of teens, we are learning new skills and providing leadership every day,” said Leya Santiago, Teen Board Executive Director of the B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation. “Our goal with Cinderella’s Closet is to build confidence and to raise awareness about girls our age who may be in vulnerable situations and how a little bit of information can keep them away from being pulled into doing something they don’t want to do.”

Music will be contributed by Dj Soni D (IG: dj.sonid), a Las Vegas producer, creative director, and storyteller that brings stories and music together. Also performing will 13-year-old Avery King from Vegas City Opera and 17-year-old singer-songwriter ChloA Watson. ChloA boasts a unique vocal style and soulful songwriting that Simon Cowell applauded with a yes after she covered “Dream a Little Dream of Me” on “America’s Got Talent”. ChloA is excited to share her music and voice and will be releasing the new acoustic version of “YOU” during the event.

Mrs. Summerlin 2020 Chris Mersch will guest host and SHERO Board Member Monica Coburn will emcee the charity event. The fashion show entry fee is a suggested $5 donation and will showcase styles from Jacinta Boutique. Thirty percent of purchases made at the boutique or online using code SHERO30 throughout the month of August, will benefit SHERO.

Safety is of the utmost importance and SHERO. The charity has pivoted its event to both virtual and a social distancing manner and will offer face coverings and follow state and CDC guidelines at all times.
