Opportunity Village Hosts Drive Thru Parade to Show the Clients of Opportunity Village How Much They Miss Them
On Thursday, May 21, 2020, Opportunity Village hosted a drive thru parade where employees of the organization waved signs and cheered as individuals served by the organization drove by with their families and caregivers. The staff members wanted a chance to show the people they used to see every day, in the programs and services at Opportunity Village, just how much they missed them.
Nearly fifty cars made their way through the parade, some making several trips. While most cars were filled with Opportunity Village clients and their families, other special guests included former Governor Brian Sandoval, Opportunity Village Foundation Board Member Lauralyn McCarthy Sandoval of Aristocrat Gaming, Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske – who also serves on the OV Board of Directors, and the Vegas Golden Knights’ mascot, Chance.
Opportunity Village plans to host a drive thru parade at their Oakey Campus next. This event will take place Wednesday, May 27th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
