Today, Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF), Imagine Dragons’ nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis, announced an online donation campaign at trf.org/donate to increase emergency funds critical to supporting TRF families during these uncertain times.

Through the end of March, the organization will share special messages from Imagine Dragons band members as well as stories from TRF families on the foundation’s website and social media channels each day in an effort to enhance awareness about the increased risk these families now face.

To learn more about the campaign, visit trf.org/emergencyfund.  Patients battling pediatric cancer are extremely susceptible to contagious viruses, including COVID-19. Social distancing is critical to the safety of these patients, yet places an even more challenging burden upon the families who care for them. In addition, for families already experiencing a significant strain in managing medical bills as they keep up with the routine costs of day-to-day living, the current public health concerns and economic pressures arising from the global COVID-19 pandemic make an already challenging situation that much worse.

TRF is launching the emergency funds campaign in anticipation of the increased number of pediatric cancer families requiring additional support during these uncertain times. Financial contributions enable TRF to support families by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses.  For those currently unable to donate, TRF has also introduced an email Pen Pal Program to send messages of hope and reassurance as a way for TRF families to connect and cope during this time of increased isolation.

Families, friends and supporters from around the world are welcome to send scanned letters, drawings and videos to penpal@trf.org, where they will be shared with TRF families to brighten their days. Imagine Dragons launched TRF after meeting Tyler Robinson, an inspiring teen and fan of the band who battled a rare form of childhood cancer. TRF continues Tyler’s legacy and honors his courageous example by reaching out to uplift other children battling cancer and the families who support them.

TRF’s mission is to support these families financially and emotionally by offsetting out-of-pocket life expenses as they cope with their child’s diagnosis. More than 1,000 families have benefited from TRF support since the foundation launched in 2013. The Foundation continues to grow its efforts for families through a number of awareness and fundraising initiatives and partner programs. To learn more about TRF, visit TRF.org and follow TRF on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
