Dead & Company Residency in Las Vegas: 18 Shows Booked at the Sphere
Dead & Company, an offshoot of the Grateful Dead featuring guitarist John Mayer, has booked 18 shows at the innovative Sphere in Las Vegas for a residency.
The group, for those unfamiliar, features Grateful Dead legends Bob Weir and Mickey Hart alongside John Mayer, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, bassist Oteil Burbridg, and drummer Jay Lane, according to Rolling Stone Magazine.
Back in 2023, however, Dead & Company announced that they would be going on their final tour culminating in a pair of San Francisco gigs. That announcement came before news of the Dead & Company residency at the Sphere, one of the most innovative new venues in the country that, luckily, isn’t damaged as some reports had claimed.
For the tour at the innovative Las Vegas Sphere, the Dead & Company residency will take place over a span of six weeks in May. More specifically, the band will play three shows a weekend starting on May 16 and running through June 13.
The so-called “Dead Forever” Dead & Company residency will last for 18 shows, and closely follows a four-show residency from band Phish and a whopping 40 shows from U2 during its run.
Doors open for the residency at 90 minutes prior to each show. Speaking of which, each show kicks off at 7:30 p.m. each night.
Presale tickets for registered Sphere fans will go on sale at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on Monday, Feb. 5. Presale general admission will become available at 10 a.m. that day, while public tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9.
