Why Was the Las Vegas Food & Wine Festival Canceled?

The Las Vegas Food and Wine Festival has officially been canceled this year. Here’s why.

According to Channel 13 News, the organizers said that an accidental double booking at Resorts World Las Vegas led to the event being canceled this year. Unfortunately, that might put the festival in jeopardy next year, too.

A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Food and Wine Festival told 13News that the double-booking has caused the organizers to basically shut down since “there’s nothing else to do.”

This is because each year requires the organizers to invest a significant amount of money into the event. With the cancellation this year, all of the money is now lost and the equipment purchased for the festival is just sitting in storage.

“I asked them for additional dates. I asked them for different locations. I even asked them for a date for 2025 and nothing has happened since,” the spokesperson said.

The Las Vegas Food and Wine Festival is an annual festival known for its over-the-top culinary experiences, including celebrity chef appearances and exclusive wine tastings. It was scheduled for Oct. 2 through Oct. 6 this year before the debacle with the Las Vegas event space.

If you purchased a ticket for the festival, you’ll get your money back. The organizers issued refunds as soon as they learned about the double-booking.

Although the festival may not happen for another couple of years, Las Vegas is still a culinary hotspot. Want to check out as much delicious cuisine as possible? Check out the VegasNews guide to the best food tours in Las Vegas.
