A free day of activities followed by the DC Solar 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race will highlight the ultimate family fun day dubbed “350 Fest.” A kids zone, petting zoo featuring exotic animals, including a kangaroo, the second annual LVMS Show & Shine car show to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities and a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver autograph session are just a few of the highlights of the day’s activities. A beer garden, food trucks, pet adoptions by The Animal Foundation, a poker run, raffles, vendor booths, giveaways and entertainment also will be part of the daytime activities, which are free to all fans.

Later that evening, the biggest stars of the NASCAR Truck Series will take to the 1.5-mile superspeedway for the 20th running of the DC Solar 350. Children 12 and under will receive free admission to the race with a paying adult.

“We are kicking off our Furiously Fast Fall in a big way on Oct. 1,” LVMS President Chris Powell said. “Our Fan Engagement Area will have something for everyone, and we anticipate a one-of-a-kind festival-type atmosphere that fans have never seen prior to our truck race. To be able to top it all off with a major NASCAR racing event will make it an unforgettable day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.”

The kids zone will have inflatable rides, bounce house, face painters, balloon artists and more. The petting zoo, provided by Roos-n-More, will feature a sloth, armadillo and other animals in addition to the kangaroo. Hundreds of hot rods are expected for the Show and Shine, and winners will be crowned in more than 25 different categories for the car show.

The DC Solar 350 begins an extremely busy month at LVMS that also includes the Red Bull Air Race World Championship Oct. 15-16 and the NHRA Toyota Nationals Oct. 27-30.

The green flag for the DC Solar 350 – one of the Round of 8 races in the inaugural Truck Series Chase – will drop at 5:30 p.m. The Neon Garage opens at 8:30 a.m., practice sessions run from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 10-11 a.m., and the 350 Fest festivities begin at 10 a.m. in the Fan Engagement Area. In addition, the driver autograph session runs from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Fan Engagement Area and qualifying begins at 3 p.m.
