Alaska opened up scoring on a power play goal midway through the first period, off the stick of center Nick Mazzolini. Las Vegas countered almost exactly one period later, and a goal from center Eric Lampe at the 9:00 mark made it a 1-1 game. With that goal, the Wranglers ended a goal-less streak dating back to a game against the Ontario Reign on Friday, Nov. 2.

With three minutes left in the second, the Aces regained the one-goal lead on a second goal from Mazzolini. Both Wranglers goaltender Joe Fallon and Aces goaltender Mark Guggenberger held the third period scoreless, which tilted to Las Vegas’ disadvantage as Alaska tallied the 2-1 win.

The same two teams finish the three-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m., and Captain America will be live on the Orleans Arena concourse for photos and autographs. Tonight’s full box score can be found here.
