Hughesman, 22, made his rookie debut with the Wranglers last year after opening the season in training camp with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound left wing scored his first professional goal in the Wranglers’ first game of the 2012-13 season, and went on to collect 12 more goals and 18 assists.

“Adam learned a lot about the pro game last season,” said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Mike Madill. “Adam is ready and willing to be a go-to guy offensively this year, and he’s a natural goal scorer, which I want him to get back to. He’s a player with a tireless work ethic – he’s relentless.”

Before turning pro, the Winnipeg native spent six years (2006-12) with the Western Hockey League’s Tri-City Americans. In 338 games, Hughesman tallied 140 goals and 210 assists, with a career-high 116 points (50 goals, 66 assists) coming as alternate captain in his final season with the Americans.

“I’m very blessed to be able to come back to a great organization and city,” said Hughesman. “The players, front office, and management treated me unbelievably last year. I look forward to the challenge of contending for the Kelly Cup with Coach Madill.”

The Wranglers open their eleventh season of hockey in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. against the Utah Grizzlies. For the entire Wranglers schedule, please click here for a one-page PDF.
