Blue Man Group Serves as Referees During Coast X Coast Charity Hockey Game
On Saturday, Aug. 24, Blue Man Group Las Vegas served as honorary referees during the Coast X Coast charity hockey game at City National Arena. Vegas Golden Knights in-game host, Mark Shunock, served as the game announcer and Dave and Mahoney of X107.5 were the game’s commentators.
Blue Men served as surprise referees and caused some mid-game havoc, including throwing the real referees in the penalty box. The game was played as part of Coast X Coast’s 2019 Ride for the Fallen. The teams consisted of first responders and each first responder wore a jersey with the name of a fallen Special Operations member on their back.
The 2019 Ride for the Fallen started in Los Angeles on Aug. 23 and made a stop in Las Vegas on Aug. 24. The ride will conclude in Fayetteville, NC on Sept. 7. The cross-country motorcycle ride is a commemorative ride honoring fallen Special Operations members and gives the foundation the opportunity to share the stories of their honorees. The Coast X Coast Foundation’s mission is to, “honor fallen Special Operations members and enhance the lives of those wounded.”
