Boyd Gaming Properties Celebrate Wrangler National Finals Rodeo with Exclusive Concerts and Events, Dec. 5-14
Boyd Gaming properties throughout the Las Vegas Valley will once again welcome the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) December 5-14 with a schedule packed with post-rodeo events, concerts and parties (Pictured: Wynonna Judd).
National Finals Tonight Show at the Gold Coast
Head to “Where all the Cowboys go after the Rodeo” at the award-winning National Finals Tonight Show, held at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino nightly at 10:30 p.m. Admission is free and fans will be treated to special highlights and interviews with some of the most recognizable names in the world of professional rodeo.
The wrap-up of each day’s WNFR performances will be hosted by eight-time World Champion and Hall of Fame Cowboy Don Gay; World Champion Tie-Down Roper and All-Around Cowboy, Joe Beaver; and TV host Dan Miller. They will be talking all things rodeo, featuring interviews with Pro Rodeo contestants and a variety of celebrities who enjoy and appreciate the western lifestyle, including a special appearance by film actor Josh Lucas (“American Psycho,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “A Beautiful Mind,” “Glory Road”) who will be promoting his upcoming film “Bullrider” with writer/director Bethany Ashton Wolf.
Special appearances by legendary WNFR rodeo announcers Bob Tallman and Boyd Polhamus will include a Q&A session with these top cowboys. Additionally, special prizes will be given away nightly, including autographed Fender guitars by country legends such as George Strait, courtesy of Wrangler.
Gary Leffew’s Legendary Buck’N Ball at the Gold Coast
Live country music, two-step dancing and drink specials highlight the “Buck’N Ball,” Las Vegas’ greatest cowboy party. The Buck’N Ball will be held December 5-14, starting at 8 p.m. each evening, in the Arizona Ballroom at the Gold Coast.
In addition to nightly appearances by country-rock sensation Scotty Alexander and the Tempered Steel Union, this year’s Buck’N Ball will feature one-night-only performances by several well-known country music artists:
- December 6, The Farm This dynamic trio of Nick Hoffman, Damien Horne and Krista Marie released their debut album in the summer of 2012, which includes such radio hits as “Home Sweet Home” and “Be Grateful.”
- December 7, Craig Campbell: After selling more than three-quarter of a million tracks from his self-titled debut album in 2011, Craig Campbell has reached the Top 15 twice, with lead single “Family Man,” followed by “Outta My Head,” the lead single from his second album, “Never Regret.”
- December 13, Brett Eldredge: Nominated for CMA New Artist of the Year, Brett’s debut album, Bring You Back, features No. 1 single “Don’t Ya,” as well as popular hit “Beat of the Music.”
- December 14, Parmalee: Comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, cousin Barry Knox and lifelong friend Josh McSwain, Parmalee’s hits include their Top 40 debut single “Musta Had a Good Time,” and current Top 20 hit “Carolina.”
There is no cover charge to the Buck’N Ball and all rodeo fans are welcome to join the nightly celebration (seating is limited). Special VIP seating and bottle service reservations are available at BoydGaming.com/NFR. Cowboy boots are not required, but are highly recommended.
Bob Tallman Celebrity Bowling Tournament at the Gold Coast
Bowling, celebrities, food and fun will once again be signatures of the 2013 Bob Tallman Celebrity Bowling Tournament on December 7 at the Gold Coast. Film, television and stage actor Josh Lucas (“American Psycho,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “A Beautiful Mind,” “Glory Road” and the upcoming film “Bullrider”) is scheduled to make a special appearance at the event held at the Gold Coast Bowling Center. The tournament will benefit the Las Vegas chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities and the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. Roxy’s Buckin’ Bull Honky Tonk at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall
Bring out your inner cowboy and cowgirl at the 3rd Annual Buckin’ Bull Mechanical Bull Riding competition, hosted by PRCA rodeo announcer Jody Carper, at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, December 6-14. There will be two riding sessions nightly at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
2009 PRCA Bull Fighter of the Year Cory Wall, PRCA rider Tate Stratton and PRCA member and Helldorado Days champion bull rider Shawn Stephens will judge the mechanical bull riding championship.
Each session’s first-place contestant will receive an honorary belt buckle presented by Sam’s Town and Pepsi-Cola. Other prizes will include cash and free game play. The competition will be completely free for all participants.
Shepler’s Western Wear and Cowboy Santa at Sam’s Town
During the entire run of WNFR, special sales on your favorite Western clothes, gifts, boots and hats will be available at Shepler’s Western Wear store, located on the second floor of Sam’s Town.
And while you’re at Sam’s Town, drop by to visit Cowboy Santa and Mrs. Claus at Sam’s Town’s Mystic Falls Park Winter Wonderland, where you can actually see it snow in Las Vegas!
