“After consultation and review with our partners in Las Vegas, we have determined the new location will remain on Las Vegas Blvd., but will be moved to the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, approximately one mile north of the previously planned start line,” said Josh Furlow, President of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “I would like to thank all of our runners and community partners for their patience and understanding as we worked to confirm the new start line location. We look forward to hosting you in Las Vegas.”

All other race weekend events including the Health & Fitness Expo, Saturday’s 5K at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, and Sunday’s 10K will go on as planned. The marathon, half marathon, and 10K finish line has not changed its location on Las Vegas Blvd. in front of The Mirage Hotel & Casino. The final course map and additional details about the Toyota Headliner Concert will be announced.

Race organizers have also joined the campaign to help give back to those affected most by the Las Vegas tragedy. A donation page will be set up encouraging all sponsors, expo vendors and participants to join in the efforts organized by Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak, a long supporter of the marathon in Las Vegas. All participants will have the opportunity to purchase as special #VegasStrong Brooks technical-tee with 100% of the proceeds going to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund.

“This race will no doubt be the most special in our history as we show the world our unwavering support for Las Vegas,” added Furlow. “We encourage all community members to join us November 11-12 whether that is through participating, volunteering, or just cheering on these runners.”

Participants can also pay their respects during the marathon & ½ marathon at a special on-course tribute. In lieu of course bands and amplified sound over the first 2.5 miles of the course, an extended moment of silence will pay tribute to the victims and families affected.

There will be a #VegasStrong signing wall lining Las Vegas Blvd., which all participants will have the chance to sign at the Health & Fitness Expo, and race organizers are encouraging everyone to wear their #VegasStrong t-shirt to be illuminated.
