Gold Spike, downtown Las Vegas’ premier adult playground keeps the fun rolling all summer long with Down & Derby, the hottest dance party on skates!
Starting Wednesday, June 20th and continuing every third Wednesday, Gold Spike’s ‘Backyard’ will transform into a roller rink for Down & Derby and Real 103.9’s renowned roller disco party as it hosts its skate night extravaganza with contests, prizes and summer drink specials!
Wednesday, June 20th – Billy and Emily England of “Skates of Hell” from ABSINTHE at Caesars Palace
Grab your friends, grab your skates! ‘Down & Derby’ kicks off the summer with a jumbo birthday bash as rollerskating siblings Billy and Emily England of “Skates of Hell” from ABSINTHE at Caesar Palace celebrate Billy’s birthday with a jaw-dropping skate demo! Mingle with cast members from Las Vegas’ hottest show and demonstrate your skills solo or with a partner of your own while DJ SHr3D drops some retro beats. Break out the glittering spandex and afro combs as roller-stakers are encouraged to dress in 1970’s disco attire. Enjoy drink specials, contests and giveaways, including tickets to ABSINTHE throughout the duration of the derby – so do the hustle!
Wednesday, July 18th – Rock Bottom 3: Booty Short Contest
Booty, booty, booty, booty SKATIN’ everywhere. Get ready to find your Ms. or Mr. New Booty during ‘Down & Derby’s’ booty short skate contest that will bring all the boys (and girls) to the ‘Backyard’. Skaters can enjoy drink specials and music from DJ’s Phoreyz & SHR3D all night long!
Wednesday, August 18th – Jock Jams Disco
“Do a little dance, make a little love, just come (skate) tonight.” When disco fever gets going, get skating! Disco and derby enthusiasts alike can skate, skate, skate the night away to Jock Disco Jams from the Bee Gees, Donna Summer, KC and the Sunshine Band and other disco derby jams. Enjoy drink specials and contests throughout the night.
