Henderson Mayor Debra March and Vegas Aces Volleyball Players Cut the Net for the Grand Opening

Nearly 200 aspiring players, their families and local dignitaries gathered for the official opening for the new home of the Vegas Aces Volleyball Club. The event featured a proclamation ceremony by Mayor March deeming Oct. 21 “Vegas Aces Day” which included head coach Ruben Herrera presenting her with a customized Vegas Aces uniform.

The opening was complete with dozens of smiling young athletes and volleyballs whizzing through the air. Food for the event was donated by Nacho Daddy and beverages by Breakthru Beverage Group.
This first-of-its-kind facility in the region will attract girls from across the valley to play volleyball at its highest level, training them to be competitive in the national arena.
Construction for the 2-story facility began in October 2016. It features 28-foot-high ceilings with three courts on the first floor, dedicated viewing areas for guests from the second floor balcony and office space. The court features the same padded faux wood floors used at the Beijing Olympics. The space is open daily to players of all ages to practice, train and attend clinics with staff dedicated to educating athletes in a multitude of areas. Currently, Vegas Aces’ after-school program is the only one its kind for girls 14 and under to play club volleyball. The team also holds an exclusive partnership with the global sporting wear brand Under Armour, as the companies only sponsored volleyball team in the world.

Vegas Aces Volleyball is the premier volleyball club in Las Vegas redefining competitive training in the growing sport. The team is based out of the Vegas Aces Training Centre which officially debuted in October 2017. Founded by Brian and Angela Edgeworth and evolved from The Edge non-profit private volleyball center, Vegas Aces Training Centre was designed to be the premier place for young athletes to play and train at a competitive level.

Vegas Aces Volleyball has amassed impressive accolades and rankings. In its first year in 2015, the club took one team to Nationals, two teams to Junior Nationals one taking home the silver medal in 2016. Currently, in 2017, four of their five teams ranking in top 10 in Southern California.
