Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Encourages Volunteers April 10-16

The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open commemorates National Volunteer Week April 10 – 16 by encouraging the Las Vegas community to get involved with the 2011 tournament and become a volunteer.

By supporting the tournament, volunteers are supporting the life-changing work of Shriners Hospitals for Children. Volunteers can assist in a variety of areas including admissions, gallery control, standard bearers, caddie services, transportation, corporate hospitality, special events and more.

In addition to working alongside some of the biggest names in golf, volunteers receive a week-long tournament admission badge and a ticket to the volunteer party. Volunteers are distinguished from tournament fans by their uniforms, which are required. A $50 uniform fee covers the cost of the official volunteer tournament jacket, golf shirt and hat, and all meals during their shift. Volunteers must be 18 or older and may register online or contact Donna Millwood at dmillwood@jtshrinersopen.com.

National Volunteer Week, the biggest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in the country, began in 1974 when President Richard Nixon signed an executive order establishing the week as an annual celebration of volunteering. Since then, every U.S. President has signed a proclamation promoting National Volunteer Week. Additionally, governors, mayors and other elected officials make public statements and sign proclamations in support

The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open supports the ongoing mission of the Shriners Hospitals for Children and invites the community to devote their time to help provide local children with the health services they need. The 2011 tournament is Monday, Sept. 25 – Sunday, Oct. 2 at TPC Summerlin. For a week long schedule of events, please visit http://www.jtshrinersopen.com/schedule-of-events.
