Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Partners with Boys & Girls Clubs at NV Energy Youth Clinic

The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open announced today a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas that will provide local children the opportunity to be introduced to the game of golf. 

To kick off the partnership, members of the clubs attended a golf clinic with the First Tee of Southern Nevada at the Lied Memorial Boys & Girls Club. PGA TOUR professional and former UNLV Runnin’ Rebel, Bill Lunde was also on hand to demonstrate golf tips and techniques for the children.

“Putting a golf club in the hands of a child for the first time is a great thrill,” said Adam Sperling, tournament director of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas do tremendous work for our community, and we are honored to contribute to this effort.”

On Sunday, Sept. 30, more than 200 members from the Boys & Girls Clubs will participate in the NV Energy Youth Clinic with The First Tee of Southern Nevada at TPC Summerlin. Kids will have the opportunity to learn the basics of golf and important values while enjoying an afternoon of entertainment. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the event will feature various breakout sessions including the sounds of DJ BabyChino with lunch provided by Cici’s Pizza.

“We are delighted to support the introduction of valuable life lessons through the game of golf for our community’s youth,” said Tony Sanchez, senior vice president of government and community strategy for NV Energy. “We are firmly committed to the education of our kids in Southern Nevada, and are proud to be a part of a great community event.”
