NASCAR Sprint Cup Drivers to Appear at Speedway Children’s Charities Auction

Sprint Cup Series drivers Greg Biffle, Elliott Sadler, Casey Mears, Aric Almirola and retired driver Kyle Petty will take time out from their busy Las Vegas NASCAR Weekend schedules to appear at the 11th annual Speedway Children’s Charities NASCAR Driver Auction at Sam’s Town Live!, inside Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas on Thursday, February 26, at 6 p.m.

Biffle, Sadler, Mears, Almirola and Petty are appearing through the Coca-Cola Family of Drivers. Speed painter David Arrigo will also be hand to demonstrate his unique style of painting and offer a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork at the auction.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

Fans will have the opportunity to bid on a ride around the speedway in a convertible with their favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide Series stars during driver introductions prior to the start of the Shelby 427 on Sunday, March 1, and before the Sam’s Town 300 on Saturday, Feb. 28. The event also includes a silent auction with a variety of racing and non-racing items to bid on: autographed team uniforms, race car sheetmetal and tickets to shows in the Las Vegas area. Last year’s event raised more than $150,000 for the children of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.

Making a difference in a child’s life is the focus of Speedway Children’s Charities. SCC strives to do this in collaboration with the non-profit organizations it supports nationwide. Individually, SCC’s local chapters identify the needs of children in their communities and award grants to organizations that address them. Last December, the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities granted $290,000 to 57 local children’s causes during its annual grant distribution ceremony.
