Nine Year Old Las Vegas Girl Claims National Championship
At first glance, Jordan Scott seems to be your typical 9 year old. The Las Vegas fourth grader loves playing with her friends. She gets a kick out of flying high on her backyard trampoline. And she likes to challenge family members to a game, or play the piano, when her schoolwork is finished.
But one quick look at the armfuls of trophies with Jordan’s name on them and it’s obvious where she excels. Racing. Bike racing. BMX racing to be exact. And Jordan is masterful on two wheels.
Nine year old Jordan Scott of Las Vegas has won the Grand Nationals title for ABA BMX racing in her class. After a few short years of honing her skills and learning the nuances of jumping hills and eating dirt on a bike, “Jordy” is now considered the best of the best among 9 year old girls. And she is ranked 6th in the nation for all girls in BMX racing. The titles come on the heels of 14 national wins in 2010 leading up to the Grand Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jordy’s is an inspiring story of youth and determination, talent and success. And she’s right here in Las Vegas, along with a group of young and talented BMX racers – several of whom also rank among the best in the nation in their age classes.
The Las Vegas PPC BMX Racing Team will head to Reno for the Silver Dollar Nationals, January 14 – 16, to compete and see Jordy defend her title.
