Teutel was invited there by none other than Mr. Dezer himself, who flew the popular bike builder to Vegas on his private jet after they visited the Miami Auto Museum, Mr. Dezer’s flagship 200,000 square foot classic car museum in Florida.

Teutel’s visit to the 30,000 square foot Vegas showroom on Dean Martin Drive included an opportunity to meet Jay Ohrberg, a legendary custom car builder, designer and collector renowned as “Hollywood Jay” for his famous vehicles that have appeared in more than 100 films, TV shows and videos. Ohrberg’s workshop is in the back of the showroom with a window that allows patrons to watch him in action.

The chopper guru was particularly impressed with the museums collection’s Arlen Ness Honda Chopper from the ’70s, which he called a “bad ass piece.”

“Paul, Sr.” founded Orange County Choppers, based in Orange County, NY, in 1999, with his son Paul Teutul, Jr. The company was featured on “American Chopper,” a reality show that debuted in 2002 on the Discovery Channel, which contributed to the facility’s rise to fame. In 2007, Discovery Channel‘s sister channel TLC picked up the series, and in 2013-14, a newer show about the shop called “Orange County Choppers” aired on CMT.

Other TV show classics in the nearly 100 vehicle collection include “The A-Team” van, Starsky & Hutch’s Gran Torino, the “Drag-u-la Car” from “The Munsters” and gems from “The Dukes of Hazard” and “Hardcastle & McCormick.” Ohrberg has also created three special Flintstones cars, including the custom built main family car from the film, Fred‘s sports car and Barney‘s log car. In addition to new vehicles modeled after Spongebob Squarepants, Ohrberg is currently building kid-friendly cars based on Bugs Bunny (“The Rabbit Car”) and the Tasmanian Devil. There is also a 40 foot pink Mercedes limo convertible with a heart shaped hot tub.
