Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Announces 2013 Executive Committee Board Members

Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
announces its executive committee of 12 prominent local professionals chosen to advise the tournament throughout the 2013 year including: Bob Andrews, Brett Burke, Allan Creel, Julian Dugas, Vance Farrow, Mark Lefever, Terri Maruca, Lisa Motley, Bobby Reynolds, Lee Smith, Steve Stallworth and Scott Voeller.  

Bob Andrews, a life-long Las Vegan and graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, is the managing member of a management and financial consulting company which specializes in strategic and tactical planning, operating efficiencies, debt restructuring and cash flow enhancements. He is the founding member of Crimson Links, a local organization of executives that help educate, inform and articulate the mission of Shriners Hospitals for Children and how it relates to Southern Nevada.

Brett Burke is the general sales manager for Cox Media, bringing more than nine years of experience to the position. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Burke served as the local sales manager for WFLD and WPWR Television in Chicago.

Allan Creel serves as the CEO of Digital Lizard and the president of Creel Printing Company. Creel holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Bentley University.

Julian Dugas Jr. has been actively involved in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. He presently is the director of sports marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority with a focus on the development and management of programs aimed at growing Las Vegas as the sports and entertainment capital of the world. He has worked closely with the PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, LPGA and various other golf-related events including the Wendy’s Three Tour Challenge, Nevada Open and Re/Max Long Drive.

Vance Farrow currently serves as an industry specialist for health and medicine for the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development. In this role, he is responsible for supporting the recruitment, retention and expansion of health and medical professionals and businesses to strengthen the sector’s infrastructure within Nevada. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Howard University, and later graduated from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and Temple University School of Medicine.

Mark Lefever graduated from Villanova University with a degree in accounting and then went on to work at Arthur Anderson LLC where his clients included gaming, hotel resorts, real estate, banking, international manufacturing, media and SEC registrants. After founding Oswell Lefever and Partners in 2010, Lefever is now the CFO and COO at The Light Group.

Terri Maruca brings more than 17 years of marketing, promotions and public relations experience to her role as senior vice president at Kirvin Doak Communications. Terri holds a degree in communications from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. She was named one of Southern Nevada’s Most Distinguished Women in 2002 and was the recipient of 40 under 40 by In Business Las Vegas in 2008. She serves as the president of the executive committee for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Lisa Motley, a veteran of casino and hotel advertising and marketing, currently holds the position of marketing/digital media specialist for Las Vegas Events, the exclusive special events agency for the city of Las Vegas. Lisa assists in marketing efforts for such notable local events as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, USA Basketball, Pac-12 and Mountain West college basketball tournaments, and the New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacular.

Bobby Reynolds serves as the vice president of AEG Live. Born and raised in New York, he began his career in the entertainment and music business at the age of 17. Reynolds assisted in the opening of The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel, a 4,000 capacity venue that serves as a sophisticated, intimate and unparalleled entertainment destination where he has done an unmatched job balancing and booking high-class acts featuring diverse and selected programming.

Lee Smith has responsibility for every aspect of operation and serves as COO of TPC Summerlin, the home course for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Smith earned an associate degree in business administration at Parkland College where he was named the Junior College Golf Champion. Following Parkland, he accepted a scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports management.

Steve Stallworth is a 22-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry and is currently the general manager of the South Point Arena. He is very involved in community activities and is currently on the board of trustees for the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame, the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas, the Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association and serves as a council member of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Scott Voeller is senior vice president of brand strategy and advertising for MGM Resorts International. In this position, Voeller leads corporate and property brand architecture and strategies, identifies and manages cross-property brand strategies and growth opportunities, and optimizes brand partnerships and sponsorships.
