Speedfest 2010 at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oct. 30

Local stock car racing fans already have circled the date: Saturday, Oct. 30. NHRA drag racing aficionados will want to cross the Las Vegas Motor Speedway property from The Strip at LVMS to the Bullring to take in the bonus race on that night.

The Bullring will present Speedfest 2010 on Saturday, Oct. 30, featuring SMRA Supermodifieds, SRL Southwest Tour Late Models, USAC Midgets and U.S. Legend Cars Racing International classes (Bandoleros, Legend Cars and Thunder Roadsters).

Speedfest 2010 takes place on Halloween Weekend, during the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at LVMS. The Supermodifieds are the world’s fastest short-track cars and should put on another excellent show. The Supermodifieds last raced at the Bullring on July 1 and Lonnie Anderson won the 35-lap feature. Derek Thorn won the most recent SRL Late Model feature on May 8. The SRL Late Models will end their season at the Bullring with a 200-lap feature.

Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. The Bullring’s concession stand offers a family-friendly dollar menu, featuring $1 hot dogs, $1 soda and $1 beer. Coolers are not allowed in the grandstands. Listen to the announcers on 101.5 FM.

6:30 p.m. – 15-lap Bandolero feature (1 minute-per-lap time limit).
6:45 p.m. – 20-lap Legend Cars feature (1 minute-per-lap time limit).
7:05 p.m. – 50-lap Thunder Roadster feature.
7:45 p.m. – 40-lap USAC Midget feature.
8:15 p.m. – 50-lap SMRA Supermodified feature.
8:45 p.m. – SRL driver introductions.
9:10 p.m. – Start of 200-lap SRL Southwest Tour season finale.
