The Downtown Las Vegas Events Center is known for its continual success in holding events that span from the best in boxing, all the way to chart-topping music acts. This past week, the downtown venue was transformed into an action sports playground as The Las Vegas Throw Down brought only the best in skiing, snowboarding, and BMX! The BMX riders started off the day-long festival as they rode dirty on hilly terrain and caught some serious Vegas air. This much action revs even the most stubborn appetites, so festival-goers enjoyed the grub station comprised of endless possibilities.

The good vibes were set when the D Casino Owner, Derek Stevens, hopped on stage and graced the crowd and athletes with a warm welcome.

When the sun went down, the snow came out. Yes, you read that correctly. Snow was packed and loaded onto the steep ramps in preparation for the pro ski/snowboard extravaganza. It was a thrill for everybody in attendance, but especially for the starry-eyed, young locals; many of whom haven’t experienced prior to the event.

The athletes didn’t fail to impress as they raced, spun, inverted, and wowed the crowd with their signature tricks.

In some places, all-day events can be draining. When they’re held in Vegas, on the other hand, they’re energizing. Tons of festival-goers, along with the athletes themselves, headed across the street to the D Casino Hotel, for a fun after-party at the world famous LONGBAR.

Whether you’re a sports fanatic or a music maniac, the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center has something in store for you! Which event will you attend?
