The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway opens Friday with MOPAR Midnight Mayhem

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will open its 2014 season TONIGHT, Friday, Jan. 24 with MOPAR Midnight Mayhem. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with street-legal racing from 6-10:30 p.m.

Spectators gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and admission is only $5.

Now in its 13th year, MOPAR Midnight Mayhem is The Strip at LVMS’s safe alternative to illegal street racing. The speedway staff encourages enthusiasts to race each other on the safer confines of its NHRA-sanctioned, quarter-mile drag strip.

MOPAR Midnight Mayhem is open to any street-legal vehicle and any licensed driver.

Entry fee is $15 to race or ride along and $5 admission for spectators. Restricted-area passes also are available for $15.

Schedule:

• 5-9:30 p.m. – Credential sales open.
• 5 p.m. – Racer gates and tech inspection open.
• 5:30 p.m. – Spectator gates open.
• 6-10:30 p.m. – Street-legal racing (staging lanes will close at 10:15 p.m.).

Entry fees and admission:

• MOPAR Midnight Mayhem racer: $15.
• MOPAR Midnight Mayhem ride-along: $15.
• Car show entry: $15.
• Spectators: $5.
