Tropicana Las Vegas to Ring in the 2018 Rodeo Week with a Studded Lineup of Events December 2-15

is adding to the holiday season excitement with an array of daily and nightly activities for the ultimate rodeo celebration in honor of the 2018 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR), December 2 through December 15. 

Guests are invited to call Tropicana Las Vegas home for all things Rodeo Week with signature events such as the 64th Miss Rodeo America Pageant, Bullfighters Only Las Vegas Championship, WNFR Viewing Party, the Otterbox Tailgate Party, Gary Leffew’s Bucking Ball and more.

64th Miss Rodeo America Pageant
December 2-9, 2018
Tropicana Las Vegas, Tropicana Theater

Grab your cowboy hats and boots y’all because the Miss Rodeo America Pageant is coming to Tropicana Las Vegas. The contest returns to Las Vegas this December and will feature over 30 contestants all competing for the coveted title of 64th Miss Rodeo America. Reigning State Rodeo Queens will enter to win the sought-after crown by competing in the areas of appearance, horsemanship, and personality. Offering young women the opportunity to garner one of the richest experiences of their lives, Miss Rodeo America allows contestants to make lifelong friendships and be a part of a great legacy. The schedule of events will be as follows:

  • Monday, Dec. 3, 6-8 p.m. – President’s Welcome Celebration: Contestants will model and answer questions on current events. Past presidents of Miss Rodeo America will be honored.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 5, 8-10 a.m. – Contestants’ Speeches: Contestants will be given a topic and have 10 minutes to prepare a speech.
  • Thursday, Dec. 6, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Luncheon: Pageant Contestants will model their custom chaps and answer impromptu questions.
  • Friday, Dec. 7, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – Fashion Show Luncheon: Pageant Contestants will model fashions from Wrangler, a variety of designers and their custom western trendy outfits.
  • Sunday, Dec. 9, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Miss Rodeo America 2019 Coronation: Awards will be presented to the contestants and Miss Rodeo America 2019 will be crowned.

Otterbox Tailgate Party
December 6-15, 2018; 12-2 p.m. daily
Tropicana Las Vegas, Bullfighters Only Event Tent

Come one, come all to the Outterbox Tailgate Party before the main Bullfighters Only event. Mingle with guests and enjoy music, food, drinks, games, and giveaways.

Bullfighters Only 2018 Las Vegas Championship

Sin City’s hottest spot during the Rodeo Week can be found at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue. The Bullfighters Only (BFO) Las Vegas Championship returns to the iconic property. BFO is the premier league for freestyle bullfighting, with talented athletes testing their skills and abilities against equally athletic bulls that have been bred for their aggression. BFO is the “Super Bowl” of the sport.

Hooey Jam

After the excitement of the Bullfighters Only (BFO) Las Vegas Championship, guests are invited to hang out with the bullfighters, listen to top country recording artists such as Eric Middleton, Luke Kaufman, Ian Munsick and feast on world class food at this after-party inside Robert Irvine’s Public House.

Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) Closed-Circuit Viewing Party
December 6-15, 2018; 6-9 p.m.
Tropicana Las Vegas, Cohiba Ballroom

Join the excitement by watching all the events broadcast live daily with a special closed-circuit complimentary viewing party of the 2018 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR). Guests will be able to meet the contestants of the 64th Miss Rodeo America Pageant, as well as greet the 2018 Miss Rodeo America, Keri Sheffield before she hands her crown to the new 2019 Miss Rodeo America. During the viewing party, guests will be able to indulge in drink specials, buckets of beer and specialty food items.

Gary Leffew’s Bucking Ball
December 7 & 8, 2018; 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

By popular demand, the signature Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) after-party, Gary Leffew’s Bucking Ball, is back with former World Champion Bull Rider and rodeo guru Gary Leffew as the host. Guys and gals will be able to enjoy live music courtesy of saddle bronc rider turned country singer-songwriter, Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band – who have recently shared tour dates with Old Dominion, Toby Keith, Billy Currington, Eli Young Band, Casey Donahew, Stoney LaRue and Aaron Watson – as well as a rodeo arena style dance floor, drink specials, giveaways featuring exclusive offers including one of a kind six-string acoustic guitar autographed by multiple country stars asnd much, much more. Plus, guests will also be treated to a special meet and greet with the 64th Miss Rodeo America Pageant contestants and 2018 Miss Rodeo America, Keri Sheffield.
