Based in Mooresville, N.C., Turner Scott has entered trucks for James Buescher, Jeb Burton and Miguel Paludo in Saturday evening’s event. Buescher, Burton and Paludo currently are second, fourth and sixth in NASCAR Camping World Series points, respectively.

Buescher is within striking distance of points leader Matt Crafton. Although he’s scored two wins so far this season, Buescher’s best finish in Las Vegas was third place in the 2010 Smith’s 350. And Buescher will be driving the same truck Nelson Piquet Jr. drove to victory last year in Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas is always one of the tracks that I look forward to coming to each and every year,” said Buescher. “I’m really happy with my Exide team’s performance and I feel like they will have a great truck prepared for us. We’re still fighting for wins and I feel like we have a great opportunity to get our third of the season this weekend in Vegas.”

If Jeb’s last name is familiar, it’s because he is the son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ward Burton and also is the nephew of current star Jeff Burton. Like his father and uncle, he cut his racing teeth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at tough tracks like South Boston (Va.) Speedway.

Burton – fourth in points with one win in 2013 – will make his Las Vegas debut on Saturday and would like to add the Smith’s 350 trophy to his collection.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Las Vegas,” said Burton. “After the success we had in our Nationwide (Series) debut at Kentucky Speedway last weekend, my TSM team and I are hungrier than ever for another win in our truck. We’ve been really good at 1.5-mile tracks this season and our truck for Vegas is nothing short of awesome. We’re back in the game and ready for victory lane.”

Paludo has raced twice in trucks at LVMS, earning a best finish of 11th in the 2012 edition of the Smith’s 350. The 30-year-old Brazilian is sixth in the points chase, just one point behind Ryan Blaney and 13 in arrears of teammate Burton.

“I feel really good whenever we have a mile-and-a-half track coming up, because I know that’s where Turner Scott Motorsports and the No. 32 team excel,” Paludo explained. “We’ve been really strong all year at the intermediate tracks, and we’re bringing a chassis which has performed really well for us so far. These new generation chassis that TSM has developed are really stout.”

Qualifying for the Smith’s 350 is scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, with the race starting at 5:30 p.m. Each ticket purchased also includes free access to LVMS’s fabulous Neon Garage fan experience.
