NHL’s newest expansion team has defied the odds, re-written history books, and stolen the hearts of millions.  The “Golden Misfits” are beloved not only for their skills on the ice, but for the depth of their characters, and the incredible chemistry they have with one another.

Social media has been flooded with all kinds of fun content regarding the Golden Knights, especially after their game one victory of the Stanley Cup Final.  Some of the social media posts definitely tug tightly at the heart strings.

For example, kids and parents at Mesa Park were left speechless when the Golden Knights’ 22-year old forward, Alex Tuch, showed up unannounced for Summerlin South Little League’s championship game last week. He stopped by to watch his friend, Richard Wilk’s son Chase play. Tuch is a big fan of 10 year old Chase’s, having followed his home run hitting streak for months. Tuch wound up staying for almost three hours, from start to finish, and happily took at least 100 photos with kids that came up to him with their parents’ iPhones during the game.  After watching the Major’s teams play, Tuch stayed around to take pictures with kids from both teams, as well as their parents and coaches. As if Tuch couldn’t get any more likable, it seems he’s a big fan of dogs, as Chase’s puppy, Scout the Schnauzer hopped onto his lap for a selfie- and of course, Tuch posed with no hesitation.

The starry-eyed youngsters must have been inspired more than ever- how often does a child go from watching their favorite athlete compete in a championship series to seeing him sitting in the stands during their own championship game?  Tuch’s passion, talent, and humility are the ingredients of a true role model, and to demonstrate that at a young age is nothing short of amazing.

Tuch’s qualities are not unlike those of his teammates, which is arguably a massive factor in the Vegas Golden Knights’ successful inaugural season. The best part is – it isn’t over.  With game one under their belt, the Washington Capitals should be a little shaken to enter “the fortress” again.  Go Knights Go!
