Wranglers Prison Night Seat Auction Open

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that the auction for the two seats between the benches for “Rod Blagojevich Prison Uniform Night” has started on www.ebay.com and will remain open until Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 PM (Pacific). The Wranglers host the Bakersfield Condors at the Orleans Arena on Friday, January 30th at 7:30 PM.

The seats are listed on www.ebay.com as “Gov. Rod Blagojevich Prison Night Fan Experience” and may also be located by item number (230320032903) or by seller (lasvegaswranglers). In keeping with the theme of the Governor’s alleged wrongdoings, the Buy It Now price for the auction has been set at 1 million dollars. The auction also includes complimentary concessions service throughout the game and one replica Wranglers Prison Jersey.

The Wranglers will wear a uniform that features broad, horizontal black and white stripes and an identification number that begins “ILLGOV-” followed by each player’s actual uniform number. The visiting Condors will wear jerseys fashioned after the orange jumpsuits typical of Department of Corrections issue. On-ice officials for the game will wear blue jerseys designed buttons pockets, ECHL badges, and a black-neck tie with gold-tie clip.

All of the uniforms will be auctioned to benefit the team’s charitable efforts.

The Wranglers gained national attention for Dick Cheney Hunting Vest Night following a shooting mishap in February of 2006 which injured 78-year-old Harry Whittington. The team often wears specialty uniforms to support themes and causes. They are known for playing one game each season that begins at midnight, and an annual Over-18 game that caters to a more mature audience.

The Reading Royals, the City of Reading and the Sovereign Center will host the 17th Annual ECHL All-Star Game on January 21, 2009. The game will be telecast online free-of-charge on ECHLALLSTARTV by B2 Networks, the “Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL”.

The Wranglers will return home to host Victoria starting Friday, January 23rd at 7:30 PM. The Salmon Kings will stay in town for games on Saturday, January 24th at 7:30 PM and Sunday, January 25th at 2:05 PM. Blue Man Group will perform at the game on Saturday the 24th. Las Vegas will host “Prison Uniform Night” on Friday, January 30th against Bakersfield.
