Wranglers Raise $34,583 for Pediatric Cancer Research

After their 4-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday, Mar. 23, the Las Vegas Wranglers and their fans took to the ice to shave their heads to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research (Wranglers’ forward Justin Bernhardt (left) helped shave the head of teammate John Armstrong (right) during the team’s annual on-ice fundraiser for St. Baldrick’s Foundation – Photo credit: Allyson Eames). 

All total, the various participating players, staff and Wrangler faithful raised a team-record $34,583.70 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This marked the eighth consecutive season that the Wranglers have participated in the head-shaving fundraiser, and third straight season they have hosted an event of their own.

During the event numerous Wranglers players, coaches, staff and fans shaved their heads, including Head Coach and General Manager Mike Madill, Equipment Manager Jeff Maxwell, Director of Ticket Sales Matt Langseth and VP of Sales and Marketing Todd Hutton. The following 15 players also participated in the on-ice event: goaltenders Travis Fullerton, Mitch O’Keefe and Josh Watson; defensemen Nolan Julseth-White, Nick Wheeler, Greg Coburn, Charlie Cook, Jeff May, Bryce Reddick and Brendan Remple; forwards Geoff Paukovich, Cody Purves, Geoff Irwin, Adam Huxley and Adam Hughesman.

All of the funds raised during the day’s event will go directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which has donated over $127 million in research grants to fund Pediatric Cancer Research since their inception in 1999. For more information, visit www.StBaldricks.org.

The Wranglers will now host their final weekend home set of the season, a three-game face off against the Alaska Aces on Friday Mar. 28, Saturday, Mar. 29 and Sunday, Mar. 30. Saturday night’s collision will feature the final of the Wranglers’ free post-game concert performances as Todd Snider will take the stags immediately after the game concludes. Following Sunday’s 2:05pm matinee the Wranglers will also host their final free post-game skate with the team.
