Wranglers Win Second Preseason Game 4-2 in Ontario

The Las Vegas Wranglers won their second preseason game against the Ontario Reign in California tonight, winning 4-2 after being down two goals early in the second period.

The first period was relatively quiet, with neither the Wranglers nor the Reign scoring in the first 20 minutes. Only 1:49 into the second period, though, Reign center Bill Bagron put the first point on the board during the power play with assists from defensemen Dylan Yeo and Travis Gawryletz. Reign forward Kyle Kraemer scored a short-handed goal shortly after, leaving the score 2-0 in favor of Ontario at the 3:54 mark.

The Wranglers answered back with two goals of their own in the second period. Left winger Ned Lukacevic notched the first point for Las Vegas with an assist from center Chris Francis during a power play at 10:12. To tie the game 2-2 at the end of the second, blueliner Michael Busto secured an unassisted even-strength goal at 18:45.

Both sides held strong in a tie game until the last few minutes of the night. Wranglers left winger Judd Blackwater, who recorded two goals against the Colorado Eagles on Friday, brought Las Vegas up 3-2 for their first lead of the game at 16:45 in the third with an assist from defender Eddie DelGrosso. Wranglers center Adam Miller tallied the final goal with an assist from defenseman Mike Madill at 18:36, leaving Las Vegas with their second preseason win and a final score of 4-2. Blackwater was the lone Wrangler to receive one of the Three Stars tonight as the team returns home to face Ontario again tomorrow with an Orleans Arena puck drop at 2:05 p.m.
