Main event fighters included five-time world champion Zab “Super” Judah fighting Josh “Pitbull” Torres, with co-feature boxers Chuy “El Huacan” Gutierrez against Leon “The Third Generation” Spinks III, and others. Boxing Champion and Legend Leon Spinks showed up to support his grandson Leon Spinks III and the crowd was surprised when Leon the 3rd jumped off the stage to give his famous grandfather a big hug. The crowd showed their appreciation during this touching family moment by cheering the two Spinks on.

We also caught Zab Judah almost getting knocked out by the D Ring Girls, not really but it looked good either way.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman was excited to be part of another great event happening downtown Las Vegas with CEO Derek Stevens and the D Las Vegas.

We also learned today that WWE’s Jim Ross has signed on to be a boxing announcer for CBS Sports. His debut will be March 12, in the first of eight scheduled monthly events at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center called Knockout Night at the D. Helping announce with Jim will be the very popular Al Bernstein sitting ring side giving the play-by-play as well as interviews being done by Kevin “Flushing Flash” Kelley,  former pro boxer and Golden Gloves champion. We captured all this in a great photo of the Mayor giving her fist of approval, for this new boxing series for downtown Las Vegas.

After the long day of interviews and announcements, the D Las Vegas owner Derek Stevens dined with sportscaster Al Bernstein and the famous WWE Hall of Famer / Commentator Jim Ross inside Andiamo Italian Steakhouse. The guys ate a couple of Andiamo Tomahawk Long-bone 32 oz rib-eye steaks with its secret zip sauce and also enjoyed some blackened Grouper over a bed of Risotto. After dinner the trio headed downstairs to the famous Longbar for a few drinks and the fun atmosphere of the D Las Vegas.
