Golden Knights vs Sharks Games Postponed

The Golden Knights have been forced to postpone games once again due to COVID concerns.

The Knights announced in a Friday statement that the NHL postponed the team’s games against the San Jose Sharks on Feb. 1 and 3 in Glendale, Ariz. due to continued COVID protocols. The NHL’s decision was made a day after the league’s decision to also postpone the Knights’ game at T-Mobile Arena against the St. Louis Blues.

Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and three other unnamed members of the Knights’ coaching staff were placed in COVID isolation and protocol last week. A taxi-squad player was also placed in COVID protocol and isolation.

General Manager Kelly McCrimmon said during a video press conference that Pietrangelo and the coaching staff members have received four straight days of negative tests since the postponed games.

McCrimmon said the team is scheduled to resume practice again on Wednesday and Thursday before the Knights play against the Los Angeles Kings this Friday.

The NHL has also updated the Knights’ schedule:

  • Game #122, St. Louis at Vegas, originally scheduled for Jan. 28, is now scheduled for March 22 at 10 p.m. ET
