Knights vs. Kings Preview

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are ready to play once again after their 2020-2021 season was briefly on hold.

The Knights are set to take on the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena tonight after spending over a week off the ice due to COVID protocols.

Three previously scheduled games including a two-game set against the San Jose Sharks last week were postponed after Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and three other members of the Knights coaching staff were placed in COVID protocol and isolation.

General Manager Kelly McCrimmon said during a Monday video press conference that Pietrangelo and the coaching staff members had received four straight days of negative tests at the time.

The team practiced at City National Arena on Wednesday, but there were some notable absences still including Alex Pietrangelo and Head Coach Pete DeBoer, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported

No updates have been made regarding when they’ll be able to return to the season.

The Knights will have some catching up to do this game since being out of commission. The Knights are currently 5-1-1 and were at the top of the Western Division, but now sit at fourth as a result of their postponed games.

Still, there’s definitely room for the Knights to rebound quickly as they are only four points behind St. Louis and Colorado, who are tied at the top of the Western Division.
