Lights FC Head Coach to be Inducted Into National Soccer Hall of Fame
Starting tomorrow, Las Vegas Lights FC Head Coach Steve Cherundolo will now be able to add another accomplishment to his career: Hall of Famer.
Cherundolo, 43, is receiving this stellar honor to culminate his playing career that featured….:
- Representing the U.S. on three World Cup rosterS (2002, 2006 & 2010) where he played every minute of every match at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
- 17 season career with Germany’s Hannover 96, including 13 of those seasons competing in arguably the top league in the world — the German BundesLiga.
- Retiring as one of the all-time great defenders in U.S. National Team history.
Following his distinguished playing career, he turned to a career of coaching that featured stints at multiple German clubs and the German Youth National Team before joining Lights FC for the 2021 season.
Tomorrow’s U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame ceremony will be streamed live via YouTube at 11:15am PT.
Coach Cherundolo and his Lights FC team return to action at Cashman Field next Friday night for a home match against Los Angeles Galaxy II (Fri., Oct. 8th at 7pm).
