Vegas Golden Knights Submit Proposal to Bring Fans Back To T-Mobile Arena
Fans of the Vegas Golden Knights may be able to return to T-Mobile Arena as early as next month.
A spokesperson for the Golden Knights confirmed that the team is submitting a large gathering plan to state and local authorities to host fans at 20% starting next month.
T-Mobile Arena’s current hockey-game seating capacity is 17,500. If their plan is approved, it will allow 3,500 fans to watch games in-person, with social distancing.
“If we have approval, we will provide details regarding ticket sales and entry requirements at that time,” the team spokesperson said.
The spokesperson also announced a plan to allow the Henderson Silver Knights fans to attend games at the Orleans Area.
The announcement follows Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak’s announcement last week, loosening COVID-19 restrictions, and enabling the expansion of large gatherings, which includes sporting events.
During the 2020 hockey season, the Golden Knights have played 13 games – 10 of which were at home and without spectators. They played two games in Arizona against the Coyotes, which allowed fans at 20% capacity.
Other NHL teams have also begun to welcome back fans with reduced crowds, including Dallas, St. Louis, Nashville, and Florida.
Earlier this week, the Golden Knights announced that members of the Golden Knights and Silver Knights will take part in a virtual reading week. The partnership with Silver Summit Health Plan at Clark County School District schools will begin during the week of March 1.
Nevada’s current restrictions for large-scale public gatherings will be lifted starting March 1.
