The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace to Install Giant Illuminated Dragon in Preparation for Chinese New Year 2019
To celebrate Chinese New Year 2019 and welcome the Year of the Pig, The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace is once again installing a massive 950-lb Chinese dragon display. A steel structure covered in 30,000 red and amber LED lights, assembly of the 22-ft. long, 6 ft. wide and 12 ft. high creature will begin at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9 with estimated completion by 9 a.m.

A legendary creature in Chinese mythology and folklore, the dragon is a traditional symbol of power, strength, and good luck. Once fully assembled, the dazzling display will be in place on the Fortuna Terrace near the interior casino entrance to The Forum Shops from Caesars Palace.

A custom creation for The Forum Shops, the dragon will sit upon a lush red carpet and be surrounded by hand-painted wood pillars, gold fencing and red velvet ropes.

While the Chinese New Year begins on Tuesday, Feb. 5 and it is the Year of the Pig, the traditional Chinese dragon will be on display at The Forum Shops beginning January 9 and throughout the end of February.
