Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Sports List

Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Sports list for 2021.

2020 was quite the year for Wilson. Not only was she named the WNBA’s Most Valuable Player, but she also helped lead the Aces to their first WNBA Finals appearance.

Off the court, Wilson has been an outspoken member of the WNBA players association’s Social Justice Council, while continuing to support young people dealing with dyslexia and bullying through the A’ja Wilson Foundation.

On top of that, Wilson is a founding member of the More Than a Vote initiative.

Over the last year, she has emerged as one of the most visible WNBA stars – headlining Nike’s women’s basketball campaign and becoming the first WNBA player to sign an endorsement contract with Mountain Dew.#

A’ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces Forward: “When I got the news, my initial reaction was like, woah, this is a pretty big deal. I was pretty excited about it when the news dropped. I was just so glad to be one of 30. That says it all in itself, to be under 30 and still trying to make a change in this world, especially considering that the year we’ve had hasn’t been easy. To know that your work hasn’t gone unnoticed and your support system and those that have helped raise you are always behind you, it’s been an honor to be one of 30 Under 30 at that. This is a huge deal for me, for sure.”

Speaking of the Las Vegas Aces, the team’s “Give the Gift of Basketball” campaign is back for the holiday season.

Through this program, the Aces are able to offer game tickets to organizations who serve and support the Las Vegas community at no cost.

These tickets have been provided for community use by Aces season ticket holders, corporate partners, and “Give the Gift” holiday donors.

Anyone who donates $10 dollars or more will have a chance to receive an Aces holiday gift basket.

The Las Vegas Aces are owned by MGM Resorts and play their home games at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
