The Animal Foundation, a Las Vegas animal shelter agency, is waiving all adopting fees on Friday as they hit critical capacity.
On Friday, Nov. 8, the animal shelter will be hosting a “Shine a Light on Love” adoption fee starting at 11 a.m. Thanks to Olight, a local flashlight manufacturer, all adoption fees for dogs have been waived.
A $10 license fee may still apply, however. The event runs until 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, there may be a long line to adopt a sweet pup of your own, so The Animal Foundation recommends that interested pet parents get there early.
If you currently have pets, you should know that dog-to-dog introductions aren’t allowed at The Animal Foundation. Adoption counselors, however, should have step-by-step guidance for families wanting to bring another dog into their family.
Reportedly, the animal shelter said that they are currently at capacity with more than 500 dogs in their care as of Thursday, Nov. 7. Having that many dogs in their space increases the risk for respiratory diseases, particularly for senior dogs.
