Former “Doubling Down With the Derricos” star Karen Derrico has been arrested in Las Vegas after prosecutors accused her of making threats against her former husband, Deon Derrico, and their 14 children. Court records allege the reality television personality sent threatening emails during an ongoing legal dispute following the couple’s 2024 divorce. Derrico has denied the allegations through her attorney and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Karen Derrico’s Charges Following Her Arrest in Las Vegas

Karen Derrico, 46, was arrested in Las Vegas and is facing multiple criminal charges, including harassment, violating a restraining order, preventing or dissuading a witness from testifying through threat of violence, and aggravated stalking. She was arraigned on June 23 and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 6 after entering a not guilty plea.
According to prosecutors, Derrico allegedly sent several emails to her former husband threatening bodily harm if he appeared at a court hearing connected to a restraining order. The complaint also alleges she threatened to harm any of their children who sided with Deon during the family’s ongoing legal conflict. Reviewed court filings state that the messages referenced violence against Deon and members of the family.
Derrico’s attorney, Jess Marchese, disputed the allegations. He told TMZ that Deon allegedly fabricated the emails in an attempt to frame his former wife. Marchese said the defense is working with technology experts to examine the origin of the messages and intends to challenge the prosecution’s evidence. He also said Derrico was released after posting a $2,000 bond and is currently wearing an ankle monitor while awaiting future court proceedings.
Divorce and Family Dispute Follow the End of Their Reality TV Stint

Karen and Deon Derrico rose to national fame through TLC‘s “Doubling Down With the Derricos,” which chronicled the challenges of raising their 14 children, including twins, triplets, and quintuplets. The series aired for five seasons between 2020 and 2024 before ending shortly after the couple’s divorce became public.
The pair married in 2005 before filing for divorce in June 2024. Court documents finalized the split within days and awarded the former couple joint legal and physical custody of their children. At the time, both publicly emphasized their commitment to co-parenting despite ending their marriage.
However, prosecutors now allege the relationship deteriorated significantly in recent months. According to the criminal complaint, some of the alleged threatening communications occurred despite an existing protection order. Authorities claim the messages escalated as legal disputes between the former spouses continued. Derrico continues to deny wrongdoing, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
Deon Derrico Previously Spoke About Life After the Divorce

Before the criminal case emerged, Deon Derrico discussed how his family was adjusting to life after the divorce. During appearances following the separation, including an interview on “The Sarah Fraser Show podcast,” he described the family’s focus as remaining centered on the children as they navigate a new chapter.
Karen also previously shared updates with fans, saying she and the children were “doing good” and thanking supporters for their encouragement after the divorce. Both parents had publicly stated they intended to continue raising their large family together despite no longer being married.
